This is a holiday home and weekender for a young family. The clients’ brief was to create a home that is relaxing, comfortable, practical and robust. This became our mantra. There is a sense of escape and relaxation as soon as the front door is opened, if not before, with no jarring elements and an immediate synergy with the ocean.
The natural light was harvested and reflected in the vivid white walls. The outside spaces were treated with as much care as the interior. There is an apparent randomness in the selection of the ‘found pieces’ that adds to the relaxed ambience.
Our involvement with the project was intense and we worked co-operatively with the architect from the beginning. Interior design detailing and documentation was part of our brief and the decoration was a natural extension of the design phase.
