Practical and decorative, side tables are an essential accessory to a living space – for holding a glass or cup, book or whatever. It is also an opportunity to introduce some personality and quirkiness to the room.
At Hare + Klein, we approach selection of the side table a little like accessorising in fashion – does it work with everything else, and does it add to the room?
Here is a small collection of some of our favourite side tables:-
Log by Gervasoni, available from Anibou Sculpture in a side-table! A combination of gloss lacquer with a natural timber finish on top makes this side table very versatile in a range of interiors. The Gervasoni Log is natural without being rustic allowing it to work in more sophisticated spaces. The size options also mean that they can be used as a single or paired for variety.
Deauville Stool by Jacques Garcia, from Baker Furniture We love this bronze side table, designed by Jacques Garcia, but sadly now discontinued. It reminds us of a Fernando Botero sculpture!
ST04 Backenzahn Side Table, from Living Edge A classic. We love the use of solid timber with an elegant form. The end grain of the solid timber on the top surface is beautifully detailed. The four quadrants of solid timber are appealing to the eye. We’ve used this piece in beach houses but it also would look amazing in very minimalist interior as the touch of warmth & texture.
Frank Side Table by B&B Italia, available from Space A Hare + Klein favourite because it is simple, elegant & very versatile.
Nest by Adam Goodrum, available from Cult Simple, yet refined in design. We like that they stack together or can be used on their own to cantilever over a sofa.
Concrete Tambor by Julie Prisca, available from Ondene A timeless piece – made of lacquered steel and concrete – that we have been using for years.
Stumpies, available from Pop & Scott For something a little bit different these hand painted, playful and unique logs are the perfect height to grab as a seat or plonk your G&T on at the end of the day!
