City Fringe
Wedged between Victorian terraces, the brutalist envelope of this home has been reimagined as a calm and inviting sanctuary. Newly formed interior volumes are articulated through a carefully layered palette of finishes, reinforcing the home’s strong geometry while creating visual connections both vertically and horizontally. Views are framed toward the surrounding landscape, allowing greenery to soften the architecture throughout.
Crisp detailing brings clarity to the dramatic selection of natural materials, chosen for their inherent beauty rather than embellishment. Texture and contrast play a central role, introducing a sense of depth and quiet theatre that gives the residential interior its distinctive contemporary language. The spaces feel cohesive and energising, with refinement emerging through restraint.
Delivered through close collaboration with the clients and architect Sky Grove, the project reflects a shared design vision. The personalities of the owners are woven seamlessly into the interior, resulting in a home that feels both expressive and deeply personal.
