Ocean Clifftop
Perched at the very edge of the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this home has undergone a significant renovation to fully engage with its remarkable setting. The interior design concept, material palette and furniture selection were developed by Hare + Klein, with documentation by BSA.
The home’s dramatic position brought both challenge and opportunity. Exposure to the elements required careful material choices, while the outlook demanded an interior that could hold its own against the vast ocean views. The double-height living room proved the most complex space to resolve, requiring a balance of warmth and comfort within a large, multi-purpose volume. Three key focal points were carefully orchestrated: the view, the fireplace and the television.
Through considered space planning and a layered approach to texture and furnishing, the living area now feels cohesive, functional and inviting. The result is a residential interior that responds confidently to its environment, offering both drama and ease in equal measure.
