Saddle House

Located on a working farm in the Upper Hunter region, Saddle House draws on the aesthetic of an agricultural shed, its simple form and restrained exterior giving little away. Beneath this quiet expression sits a richly detailed interior that responds directly to the surrounding landscape and rural setting.

The brief was clear. The home and its furnishings were to feel simple in concept, highly durable and genuinely comfortable, with an aesthetic that sits naturally within the owners’ rural lifestyle. Every decision was guided by a desire for ease, longevity and connection to place.

A palette of concrete, recycled blackbutt, steel and microcement forms the foundation of the interior. These materials are layered with rich tonal colours and textures, creating a residential interior design outcome that feels grounded, robust and quietly refined.
